My name is Rebecca Young. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2008 with a Bachelor’s in Art History and a minor in Italian. During my 4-year bachelor’s degree study, I studied abroad for a semester in the small town of Viterbo, Italy where I studied Italian Renaissance and Baroque art firsthand.
After earning my degree I followed most of my family and moved up to the greater Seattle area where I have been temping and working at various locations, the most interesting being that I spent almost a year at Nintendo of America testing video games.
Now I am embarking on a new challenge and going back to school to earn my Masters in Arts in Teaching, MAT. I plan to use this degree to teach History in the secondary setting. My art history background and my overall passion for history is why I want to become a teacher. I am excited to take this new direction in my life and am embracing it for all it’s worth.
